Materials List

  • Duct Tape
  • Suspender Clips
  • Duck® Edition Scissors (8")
  • Duck® Edition Detail Scissors (5")
  • Cutting Mat (12" x 18")

Bow Tie Instructions

  1. To make the bow tie, cut two pieces of Duck Tape measuring 6” and stick them together with sticky sides facing together. This will now be called piece A. Next cut two pieces of Duck Tape measuring 10” and stick them together with sticky sides facing together. This will now be called piece B.

  2. Take piece A and fold in half. Trim the opposite end to the fold in a curved V shape. Next, taper the folded end slightly, towards the fold, with your scissors. Unfold to reveal the shape for the back of the bow tie.

  3. Fold the two ends of piece B in towards the center. Use a small piece of Duck Tape to secure the ends.

  4.  Place piece B on top of the unfolded piece A and align the centers. With scissors, trim the center of piece B, following the curving tapered shape of piece A. Join piece A and B together at the center with a small piece of Duck Tape. Place around the wearer’s neck and secure in position with a piece of Duck Tape.

  5. To make the suspenders, thread small pieces of tape through the ends of suspender clips.

Suspenders Instructions

  1. Cut lengths of Duck Tape according to the wearer’s size, fold the tape onto itself or put two pieces back to back, and trim to 1.25” wide. Make the suspenders meet at the wearer’s back with either an X shape or Y shape. Attach back suspender clips with more Duck tape.
