A Mother's Love Grows Forever

The readers of AllFreeKidsCrafts helped name this project!
It's the thought that counts on Mother's Day. Let your mother know how much you love and appreciate her by making a DIY Mother's Day gift. It will be even more special because it's something that you made yourself. Homemade gifts don't have to be complicated or expensive to make; your mom will know how hard you worked on it and appreciate the gesture. Mom works hard for you, so give back a little this year and show her how much you appreciate all she does for you on a daily basis. She will absolutely love this little painted pot!

DIY Mother's Day Gift Idea

  1. Use the powder blue paint to color the outside of the pot and allow to dry thoroughly.

  2. Use the foam stamp and the baby pink paint to add stamped flowers to the bottom part of the pot.
Use the paintbrush to apply an even layer of the baby pink paint onto the foam stamp pad. Transfer the image onto the pot and then carefully lift the stamp. Continue adding flowers until the bottom part of the pot has been covered with stamped flowers.
Then, use the paintbrush to add an uneven baby pink wash to the top part of the pot. Allow to dry thoroughly.

  3. Depending on the child's age, an adult may need to assist with this step:
Cut the kebab stick shorter so that 4.4" of the stick remain.

  4. Wrap the washi tape tightly all around the shortened kebab stick.

  5. Add Pritt glue to the sharp end of the shortened stick and push it into the heart. Allow the glue to dry.

  6. Add a strip of black lace tape diagonally across the heart and cut off any protruding edges. Add the letters on top of the tape to spell "MOM."

  7. Fill the pot halfway with the potting soil. Push the bottom part of the shortened kebab stick into the potting soil. Check that the tree is standing upright and then press down the soil firmly around the stick, so that the tree will remain standing upright in the pot.

  8. Fill the rest of the pot with moss to cover the potting soil.
