As kids grow, they acquire more and more T-shirts they can no longer wear. Recycle old T-shirts into one of the coolest kids' room decorating ideas ever with this Braided T-Shirt Rug! You can help younger children make this colorful T-shirt craft so they can practice their braiding skills, and the Braided T-Shirt Rug is an easy sewing project for older children as well. Upcycling projects like this one don't cost a cent to make, either, so kids can have a custom decoration in their room for no money at all. Who would have guessed that T-shirt crafts could be so colorful, or so practical?

I do like this Braided T-Shirt Rug craft, The older ones (8 10) can do the braiding and I'm thinking I can get the 4 and 5 year old grand kids to do the trick to connect strips together. Which is a great idea, I normally tie or sew them together, this is much better. This will also be a good craft to teach the 16 year old how to use the sewing machine. I don't have to do much and the kids will keep busy and we will end up with a unique rug too boot. Thank you so much for this Kids Craft idea.

its really a superb idea.....but there should be a small tutorial video clip for kids to learn easily

It's a practical item. Color scheme is well co-ordinated.

This seems like a great way to use up all the tee shirts that my kids have either out grown or stained. Cool idea!

I SO agree!!!! I love this site!!!!

I love this!

Love this! We have so many old tshirts I don't know what to do with!
