Decorative DIY Emoji Pillow

DIY Pillow Instructions

  1. Lay down two yellow felt sheets so that they are lined up. Then, taking an inanimate object in the shape of a circle, trace around that with your sharpie.

  2. Cut out your two circles, and if you are keeping them stacked on top of each other while cutting make sure to keep them perfectly aligned the entire time.

  3. Apply a ring of glue around the edge of one of the felt circles, leaving four or five inches unglued, so you can stuff your pillow.

  4. Place the second felt sheet on top and press the sides lightly, and set aside to dry.

  5. While the pillow is drying take your other felt sheets, and trace and cut out the emoji faces you want on your pillow.

Pro Tip: You can refer to the pillow to help with cutting the features proportionally.

  6. Take your cut out emoji face and glue them onto your pillow base, press firmly and allow to dry.

  7. Now stuff your pillow and fold the opening under and glue shut.

Note: Be sure that between each gluing session you are giving your project plenty of time to dry to keep it from becoming mishapen.

This is a wonderful idea, and what child (or teen) wouldnt love these. My concern is with the glue. I realize gluing is easier for a kids craft, but the pillow cover would not last long. It would come undone fairly easily. I would prefer to sew mine if I made these. Crocheting around the edge would work too. Thanks for sharing. They are really cute!
