Rainbow Loom Bracelet Instructions
-
Start with one rubber band and make a figure 8. Push it down and put two single rubber bands on it. There will now be three rubber bands on the first two pegs.
-
Hook the bottom rubber band, bring it upwards, and let go. Do the same on the other side. Push it down, add another single rubber band, and hook the bottom rubber band. You won't be making any more figure eights.
-
Once you've done a couple rounds of making a fishtail (about an inch), you're going to add one of your silver beads. To do that, take your rubber band, put it through the bead, and grab the other side. Once the bead is strung, put the two ends of the rubber band over the two pegs, making sure your bead is in the middle.
-
Take the bottom rubber band and put it over like a regular fishtail, push it down, and add another single rubber band without a bead.
-
Keep doing a couple rounds of the fishtail, adding a bead, and repeating until it fits your (or your recipient's) wrist.
-
To add a c-clip, you will have two rubberbands on the pegs. Take the bottom one and bring it up. There should now be one rubber band on each side. Take one side of the rubber band and bring it over to the other peg. Take your c-clip, hook it onto the rubber band, and remove the bracelet. Latch the c-clip onto the other side to complete your bracelet.
History of the Rainbow Loom
You have been obsessed with rainbow loom for a while now. Maybe you're just starting out or you consider yourself a rainbow loom expert. But have you ever thought about where your rainbow loom patterns came from?
Rainbow Loom was invented by a Malaysian immigrant named Choon Ng. He never thought he'd be in the toy business because he was a mechanical engineer and worked for a car company in Detroit.
One day, his daughters, ages 9 and 12, were making bracelets from rubber bands. He joined them to make bracelets, but his kept falling apart. Determined, he went into his basement and stuck pushpins in a piece of scrap board. And thus, the first Rainbow Loom was born.
His daughters took the colorful bracelets to school and it became a neighborhood sensation overnight. It was his oldest daughter who first suggested he start selling them.
After investing the meager family savings, the looms weren't selling because people didn't understand how they worked. Ng had the idea of creating YouTube videos with this niece and daughters using the loom. A simple toy that was created to entertain his daughters soon became an international sensation that spanned across age and gender lines.
