T-shirt yarn is a wonderful alternative to regular yarn. It's easier for children to work with and it's softer, which makes for fabulous blankets and such. In order to work with this beautifully inexpensive yarn, you need to know How to Make T-Shirt Yarn. Crafts from scraps are great ways to save money while making something beautiful. Use your old, soft T-shirts to make yarn that you'll love working with. Free crafts for kids like this great project are good because even if you mess up, you haven't wasted any money. Luckily, though, this craft is fool-proof and you can't mess up.

This is a very handy project to have on hand. You can do so much with t-shirt yarn - rugs, blankets, and more. Unfortunately, the link is not working. There is an issue with the DNS address. Hopefully it comes back online soon. I would love to see the project instructions.

Hello! Thank you so much for your comment. I have found a new T-shirt yarn tutorial from Repeat Crafter Me and have replaced the old link with the new one. You should be good to go now! - Chelsea, Editor

Ive never done something like this before, but I think its quite interesting to try. I saw some nice projects that use yarn t-shirt like this. So its nice to find a how-to that teach me how to make the yarn. I have some old t-shirts that could be great for this project.

When I tried this, I ended up with little bits of T-shirt everywhere while cutting. The strip of material curled as described, but the cut edge sometimes showed and didn't look as nice as the photo. It was fun and I would use the resulting yarn for a rug, but not for anything I wanted to wear.

what a great way to recycle all of those outgrown tshirts!

This is just awesome! who ever thought of this idea?
