Recycled Spoon Flower Art

Who knew that plastic spoon crafts could be so cute? If you're searching for the perfect spring crafts for kids, look no further than Recycled Spoon Flower Art. These thrifty flower crafts would be an easy spring art project idea for a classroom, since they cost hardly a cent to make. Plus, kids of all ages can make this recycled craft. Kids will find tons of ways to decorate with their Recycled Spoon Flower Art, so let their creativity bloom.

Materials:

  • 3 plastic spoons
  • Paint: yellow and green
  • Felt: pink, purple, blue, and green
  • Pattern
  • Sandpaper
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue gun
  • Paintbrush

Instructions:

  1. Sand the shine off of the plastic spoons.


     
  2. Paint back side of the bowl of the spoon yellow and the handle green. Repeat for a second coat and allow to dry.


     
  3. Meanwhile, cut flowers from felt using the pattern provided.


     
  4. Cut a small hole near the bottom of the petals (see photo).


     
  5. Insert the spoon handle into the hole in the felt flower.


     
  6. Use hot glue to secure the spoon to the felt.
  7. Cut simple leaf shapes from green felt and glue to the front of the flower near the handle (stem).
