Make sure that Thanksgiving is a fun and easy holiday for everyone involved. Your kids might be too small to help in the kitchen, so to keep them happy and busy all day, enjoy some of these easy crafts with your little ones. These Thanksgiving craft ideas will ensure that the holiday goes smoothly and that everyone has a good time.

Thanksgiving Day Games

Cornucopia Run Around - This game is similar to musical chairs. Every player gets a name that is a Thanksgiving food (apple, turkey, pumpkin pie, cranberry, etc). Everyone but one person sits in a circle. The person standing is the leader. Then the game begins!

The leader calls out two names, "Pumpkin Pie and Apple." The two chosen players must quickly switch places. The leader calls more names at a quick pace, and then calls "The cornucopia has fallen over!" Then, everyone including the leader runs around for a new place in the circle. The person without a seat is the leader.

Thanksgiving Feast Game - This is a good game if you're traveling for Thanksgiving or doing anything that requires a long wait time. It's a memory game so it will take your mind off whatever you're waiting for.

The first player starts the game by saying "I'm going to Thanksgiving dinner and I'm having turkey," or whatever food they choose. Then, the next person says "I'm going to Thanksgiving dinner and I'm having turkey..." and add another dish. The game continues around the circle with each person saying the dishes in the exact order they have been said before and then adding a dish of their own. The last person has to recite everything said before them and add their own dish.

Thanksgiving Twenty Questions - Someone chooses a person, place, or thing related to Thanksgiving and the other players try to guess what it is by asking no more than twenty questions.

Thanksgiving Parade Bingo - The parade might not be exciting to little ones because they aren't there to experience the excitement for themselves. You can create a bingo card with aspects of the parade on them, like a giant turkey, your child's favorite cartoon characters, and famous people. If they get bingo, they get a treat!

Pumpkin Hunt - You can have a pumpkin hunt just like on Easter when you have an egg hunt. You can hide mini pumpkins all over the house and yard and send them on a chase to find the most pumpkins! Then you could decorate the pumpkins with paint or markers.

Recycled Craft Ideas for Thanksgiving

They'll be so happy crafting, you'll feel like a genius parent. These crafts are fantastic opportunities to teach kids about how to reuse and recycle materials, too!

Handprint Thanksgiving Crafts and Footprint Turkey Crafts
