Materials:
- Empty tin can
- Round plastic lid
- One 9” white paper plate
- A4 sheet of brown cardstock
- Orange cardstock
- 7 small red craft foam hearts
- Small piece of red felt
- One pair of 10mm wiggle eyes
- Brown acrylic paint
- Paintbrush
- Quick-drying craft glue
- Pencil
- Measuring tape
Instructions:
- Wash and clean the tin can and allow to dry thoroughly.
- Draw a scallop pattern around 2/3 of the outer edge of the plate. Connect the ends of the pattern with two straight lines.
- Cut out the turkey’s backside and paint it with the brown paint. Allow to dry thoroughly.
- Glue the red foam hearts in place to complete the turkey’s backside.
- Measure the distance between the upper and lower lips of the can. Also measure the can’s circumference. Draw a strip matching the can’s size on the brown cardstock.
- Cut out the brown strip and glue it around the tin.
- Glue the turkey’s backside to the tin and allow to dry thoroughly.
- Trace the pattern of the foot onto the orange cardstock and repeat, so that you will have two feet. Cut out the feet.
- Glue the feet to the bottom of the tin.
- Trace a circle onto another piece of brown cardstock using the plastic lid, and cut it out. This will be the turkey’s face.
- Fold a piece of orange cardstock in half and draw a small triangle on the fold of the cardstock. This will be the turkey’s beak.
- Glue the wiggle eyes and beak onto the brown circle.
- Draw a heart with a length of 1” onto the red felt. Cut it out and glue it to the back of the circle. This will be the turkey’s wattle.
- Glue the turkey’s face to the tin.
