You'll be having a h-owl-ing good time this Halloween when you make this cute nature craft for kids. The Witchy Pinecone Owl is perfect to make a homemade Halloween decoration. You can place it on the mantle or use it as a centerpiece for your Halloween feast. Little ones will love that this pinecone really does look like an owl wearing a witch's hat. Make this easy Halloween craft to add to your collection of spooky and scary crafts. Put your new animal friend on your front porch to greet trick-or-treaters as they come to get yummy candy.


Witchy Pinecone Owl
















  • 1 pinecone
  • Black craft felt
  • Colored craft foam
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Ribbon



  1. Gather a pinecone from your yard.
  2. Cut out a triangular piece of black craft foam. Round the edges.
  3. Cut slits in the piece on the rounded side.
  4. Cut out two doughout-shaped circles of black craft felt.

  1. Fold triangle into a cone. Slide cone into one doughnut piece. Flip up slits to the underside of the hat.

  1. Glue slits to the underside of the hat. Glue second doughnut piece to cover up slits.
  2. Glue colored ribbon around hat.
  3. Cut out small diamond shape from craft foam in whatever color you like and glue onto pinecone.
  4. Cut out two small black circles and two larger colored circles from craft foam.
  5. Glue smaller circles inside larger ones and glue onto pinecone.

Materials: 2 cups from a cardboard egg carton 1 Styrofoam coffee cup Green craft paint 2 green pipe cleaners 2 green buttons 2 googly eyes Scrap of red felt Hot glue gun Scissors Instructions: Paint the egg cups and the coffee cup with green paint.
