Painting acorns is really a fun activity. And having the kids find some oak trees for gathering them is a fun activity in itself! I have seen these acorns painted in gold and copper metalic times with a subtle opalescent glitter on the top, and heaped in a clear crystal glass bowl and used in a dining room center piece pictured in an upscale brochure! I could see adding a small wire loop to the top with glue and running a thin satin ribbon and wearing one as a pendant necklace! Fun!

These Enchanted Acorn Toadstools are so cute, we had to make some even thought they are hard find right now because the squirrels love them. The kids painted the tops and we drilled a hole in them and made keychains. Some they made to play with. We all had a great time making this easy craft!

I just started another fairy garden and this will make a great addition. I have been looking for something different to use as chairs and these acorn toadstools are just perfect. They are so cute and so easy to make and look like they belong in a fairy garden. The stools I have found were too big for what I wanted and I wanted to make them out of natural things which is what fairies do. Great tutorial. Can you use any paint or will some wash off? Anyone got a table tutorial for fairy garden?
