If you are looking for an easy paper craft for kids, then look no further than your kitchen cabinets. This Simple Coffee Filter Garland is quick and easy to put together.The kids will have a ball wrinkling coffee filters to make this textured garland. For a pop of color, have your children color the filters with markers or paint them with watercolors. Garlands are not only fabulous easy art projects for kids, but they also make super party decorations. Your kids will probably be able to finish this DIY garland faster than you can drink your morning cup of coffee.

Materials List

  • Coffee filters
  • Paper straws
  • Scissors
  • Baker's twine
  • Needle


  1. Thread some baker's twine onto a needle.

  2. Cut the paper straws into varying length.

  3. Start sewing on some paper straws and a few wrinkled filters, alternating back and forth, creating a fun garland.

  4. When done, put a few extra straw pieces on both ends.

  5. Tie loops at each end of the string to hang the garland.
