Thankful Tree
Be thankful for the little things in life, like this Thanksgiving craft idea! Kids can express their gratitude this Thanksgiving with the Thankful Tree. On each day of November, kids can write something they are grateful for on a leaf. By Thanksgiving the tree will be full of leaves! It's a Thanksgiving craft for kids that really captures the spirit of the holiday. The Thankful Tree is a great kids' Thanksgiving activity for families, but you could also use it in a classroom setting.

We have been doing this at Thanksgiving for several years now. My granddaughter makes leaves from construction paper ahead of time and they are placed in a basket on the Thanksgiving table. After dinner and before dessert, everyone takes three leaves and writes on them the things they are thankful for this year, and replaces them in the basket. After dessert, someone reads the leaves and we try to guess who wrote them, then my granddaughter attaches them to the tree outline on the wall. It's always a great hit, and a great reminder of what this day is actually for!
