If this isnt the cutest firefly project I dont know what is! Even the youngest toddler will enjoy playing with one of these glowing bugs, although I think a smaller water bottle would be easier than a soda bottle for them to hold on to. They make mini glow sticks that would fit into smaller bottles.

A really nice project to make for a camping trip where the kids can enjoy watching and not catching real fireflies! Instead they get to make this giant firefly out of recycled plastic bottles, pipe cleaners, pony beads, cardboard and glow sticks. I can imagine how much fun they would have running around pretending to be fireflies!
